Fitting

All pipeline and gas pipeline systems consist of pipes that are connected by certain elements. These items are called fittings. A fitting is a special part that is installed on pipes to connect, disconnect, turn, connect other parts and change to diameters of other sizes. The main application is to ensure the sealing of piping systems, straight fittings are suitable for the same diameter, and transition fittings are used for different ones.

For more details, or for an individual consultation on the prices of fittings, orders and purchases, you can always contact Fluid-line. The company supplies tooling equipment for the oil and gas, petrochemical, shipbuilding industries, as well as for customers in the fields of industrial gases, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and microelectronics.

Classification and types

Fitting

1. Elbow or elbow fittings. They are used to change the direction of pipelines of the same size, but located at the same angle.

2. Manifold and tee fittings are designed to connect with manifold type pipes.

3. The cross fitting is designed to combine, as said, several pipelines in one place, four or three.

4. Coupling fittings are mainly used for simple fastening with systems of the same size.

5. Adapter fittings are specialized for connecting pipelines with unequal diameters.

6. Standard plugs are used as regular plugs.

Also, the connecting elements may differ in the material of manufacture, for example: for plastic pipes, plastic-based connections are used, and for metal pipes, elements from various types of iron, such as copper or steel, are used.

General characteristics

The technical requirements for these elements are quite simple, as they are simple and small. The main characteristic will be the diameter of the conditional passage, basically it ranges from ten to one hundred millimeters. The permissible temperature during use must be the same as that of the pipeline to which it is to be connected. The pressure will depend on the external operating environment and the fitting material itself.

When parsing, you can see that this part consists of five parts, namely: a union nut, a collet, a reinforcing rubber ring, a bushing and the base itself.

A union nut is designed to secure a crimp with external slots and threads inside. The collet, on the other hand, acts as a pipe clamp, preventing them from moving. To eliminate deformation and compression of the pipe, a reinforcing rubber ring is used. The bushing ensures the sealing of the entire structure, but the body covers it all.
