The SIM number of any device is your subscriber identity module. This is how your network operator/service provider can identify you.
Besides identification, SIM cards store a terrifying amount of personal data.
Between 250 and 500 contacts, hundreds of text messages, your private security key, location data, and your phone number.
Most SIM cards have a number printed on the SIM card itself, some have a number printed on the SIM card packaging. When it happened, it was most likely thrown away.
Fortunately, there are many ways to retrieve and locate your SIM number. Each differs by device.
Let's dive into it.
How to find SIM number on Android
Go to "Settings" menu
Tap "About phone"
SIM serial number or ICCID number is SIM card number.
You can also remove the SIM card. The SIM card number is printed on the plastic. If you have trouble reading small numbers, install a SIM reader app from the Play Store.
The simplest method is always the best starting point...
1. Find SIM number on device
Not all phones display SIM card number. Some will. To see if yours do, just take a few seconds.
Go to the "Settings" menu,

SIM card number will be labeled as "SIM serial number" or ICCID number. Both mean the same thing, just different terms.

2. Install SIM Tool Manager app to check SIM number on Android
SIM Tool Manager app is available for free in Google Play Store.
This is a powerful application that can show you not only all the data on your SIM card but also phone information and allows you to manage the contacts stored on your SIM card.
This method is probably the easiest way to find the SIM number of any Android device. At least one method does not cause eye strain.
SIM cards are very small, so if your eyesight is not good, you will have trouble reading the numbers on the SIM card without a magnifying glass.
To install and use the app...
Open the Play Store app on your Android device
Search for "SIM Tools Manager" by "Sadens Studio" (this may be the first result as it has over a million downloads) After when installing, press 'open' to launch the app.
At the top are three tabs. Tap the tab in the middle labeled "SIM Info". This will require authorization to read your SIM card details.
Scroll down to the "SIM Serial Number" section. This is your SIM card number.
For dual SIM phones or earlier models that are not “smart” phones, you need direct access to the SIM card.
3. How to remove SIM card from Android phone to check SIM number
Different Android devices have different SIM card slots.
Older models typically have a tab that pulls out from the right or left side of the phone. The SIM card slides into the device.
On very old handsets (devices with a back cover and removable battery), the SIM card holder may be under the battery.
Not a convenient place to put it, but these devices have been around for a long time. When the devices are big and thick.
If you have an Android phone with a removable battery, chances are the SIM card is under the battery.

Basically... a very thin piece of metal. Not wood like toothpicks or matches. If these are broken, you'll have a hard time fishing it.
Phones with SIM trays use nano SIMs. This is the smallest size of the SIM card (12.3 × 8.8 mm). Reading the numbers is difficult.
Fortunately, because nano SIMs are used in “smartphones” and the device can work without a SIM card inserted, you can use the camera, zoom in, and take pictures.
Read the numbers on your SIM card from the close-up. This avoids straining your eyes when trying to read small print.
My phone doesn't have a SIM card?
If you have a phone that doesn't have a SIM card slot, chances are it's an old Verizon phone. They are the last of the four major mobile networks in the US to use CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access).
The rest of the world (apart from a few) using GSM technology has 4G LTE.
Some other carriers that may still use CDMA in the US include:
Verizon Wireless
Sprint (now T-Mobile)
U.S. Cellular
Cricket (part of the AT&T network)
These will be limited to older handsets that have been whitelisted by the service provider for use on their network.
These service providers do not use SIM cards on older phones.
Instead, data stored on the SIM card is stored in the device itself.
Changing networks is difficult. Basically, you get a carrier-specific locked phone. To switch to another network, you must contact your carrier to unlock the device.
Typical criteria for unlocking a phone are no outstanding payments and contract expiration.
Meeting these criteria, you should be able to unlock your device. Although they are CDMA phones, most are compatible with GSM.
If your phone has a SIM slot or SIM drawer, it is GSM compatible. Once unlocked by your carrier, you can switch to any carrier.
The main thing to consider with devices without a SIM card is 4G LTE compatibility.
CDMA and GSM are less relevant as the technology has evolved.
In 2022, AT&T shut down its 3G network in February.
Sprint followed suit in March, and T-Mobile is expected to do the same in July 2022. Verizon will be the last of the Big Four to shut down 3G CDMA networks by December 31, 2022.
For SIM-free devices on Verizon, be sure to find out if you have a 4G enabled device. or not.
If it's an older 3G phone, it's time to upgrade before the network stops working. Until then, it won't be able to connect to the network.
How to find an ICCID number on Android
The ICCID number is actually what most people call a SIM card number. That said, to find it on your Android device, go to "Settings," then tap "About phone" to find your ICCID (SIM card number). Otherwise, install the SIM Tool Manager app to find your ICCID number, or simply remove the SIM card from your phone to read the ICCID number, which is usually written directly on the SIM card itself.
The success of these methods largely depends on the type of Android device you have. Depending on the carrier, the way to check the ICCID number on your Android device may be different. However, one of the three methods described above will usually lead to success.
By the way, if someone asks you for your SIM card's serial number, it's the same number as your ICCID, again, just called your SIM number.
